I am currently reading the recent book of one of my favourite authors. It all started on a Friday, Oh how do I love the the National Library of Port of Spain , Trinidad and Tobago. Let me count the ways. Well there are not much to count. While searching for a Japanese book to read in the library. I can across this beauty of a book, from one of my favourite authors. I was so happy when the librarian told me those magical words. "yes, you can borrow this book". The library is not known for its vast variety of paranormal romance, action full books like this one. On any other day, I would have just been happy to see a Hardy Boys book. This day was magical, the book called out to me and I held it close to my heart and never let it go.
The journey to my house seemed never ending as I wanted to crack open the book and caress the pages with excitement. I was happy, a feeling I have not felt for such a long time holding a good book. I stormed into my house like a mad person and locked myself into my room. Sleep and hunger eluded me as I read the first five chapters of the twenty two chapter novel. I learned all about this futuristic world that Syn, Shahara and other being lived. I am a follower of the Dark Hunter series of this author, so this was not a culture shock for me. It was pleasently different from the content I grown acustomed to reading from this author.
The book captivated me with its twists and turns, I was unable to put it down for to long. I journeyed off to class the next day with the book in my hand walking and reading on my way to class. I have reached chapter 15 at that time, (Yes, when the book is that interesting I read it fast. ), putting the book into my bag and taking out my textbooks to pay attention in class was painful. I could not concentrate on what the lecturer was saying, I wanted to know what happen between Syn and Shahara. The questions I had floating in my mind were about the book, not whatever my lecturer was talking about. Thank Goodness, he did not ask me any questions.
I am a good girl and I went to church right after class. This was the only time that I was not thinking about the book. I returned home and then my curisoirty could not be ignored anymore I needed to know. I took out something light to eat to hush my grumbling stomach, ate it in a rush. It was time to to finish this story. Five hours later took me from chapters 15 to 22 and the epilogue and the preview for the next book in the series.
Now, I want to read the next book in the series Born of Ice, with their son Devyn. Sadly, I can't find it anywhere
Chick with a Charm by Vikki Lewis Thompson
I am familiar with this author nerd series, so I decided to give this series a chance. One delightful afternoon while searching the shelves of my public library I saw this book on the sorting rack. I was so happy and it was a delight to find this little treasure. The story follows one of the two sisters, in which a love potion is used on a gorgeous lawyer to assess his true feelings. The hijinks insue and we have a tale filled with raw passion. A sweet golden retriever, two wacky but helpful male friends. A couple who cannot seem to stay away from each other. A loving family and a happy double wedding happy ending.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good light read. Once you can deal with all the witch craft references and the interesting swear words used by wizards and witches. It will be easy to let the time pass you by as you keep turning the pages of this book reading from cover to cover.
